Right before my final round of heavy duty chemotherapy, I took a much needed trip to NYC to spend some time with my best friends from college. My aunt had taken me on a mini shopping trip to help me feel pampered which gave me a few new items in my wardrobe for some retail therapy. I was set for NYC. I had driven to the city and picked my friends up at JFK airport. I'll never forget that they had brought a gift of money from their family for me and told me it was to be used for myself. I found the perfect use.. a complete new set of makeup from Macy's. It was such a treat because I was not feeling beautiful and this was just the pick me up that I needed.

They also helped me to shop for things that I would need in preparation for my upcoming surgery. After our trip to NY they were to travel back with me to Pittsburgh to join me on my final chemo. This meant the world to me!! You will see some pictures that capture this memorable moment with my closest friends. We ate good food, went to shows, let loose, played scrabble and introduced them to Pittsburgh Popcorn Company. We took a trip to Nyack to reminisce on where we used to go to school and where we spent many of hours together in our college days. It was amazing and I'll treasure it forever!

When going through really difficult times, take time to have fun and do things that bring you joy. It helps the time to pass and it makes the not so enjoyable moments a little less hard.
